Before you tackle another task or lead another meeting, ask yourself this. Am I leading from God's presence or just reacting to pressure? Today we're looking at one moment from Moses. That should change how every leader starts their day. It's easy to get caught up in the to-do list, the deadlines, the emails, the constant need to perform, fix, solve, and lead. But what if all your activity is missing? The most important thing? This is leading 10. I'm Chris Moore, and today we're talking about something that changes everything, prioritizing God's presence. Exodus chapter 33, verse 15 says this, and he said unto him, if thy presence go not with me, carry us not up. Hint. Moses had the option to move forward. The land was there, the opportunity was open. God even said he would send an angel to lead them. But Moses stopped and said, if you're not going, I'm not going now. That's leadership. And let's be honest, we don't always pause like Moses did. We chase the win, we go after the goal. We look for progress and we look forward fast. But here's what Moses knew that we often forget. Progress without God's presence isn't success. It's just busyness. Let me say that again. Progress without presence isn't success. It might impress people, but it doesn't move heaven. So what does this say about us? Well, it says we're tempted to lead in our own strength, to rely on strategy more than surrender, to depend on our hustle more than on the Holy Spirit. We love control. Many of us love checklists. We love measurable results, but God's presence doesn't always fit into our bullet points and our spreadsheets. What does this say about God? Well, it says he wants to go with us. He doesn't wanna just give us stuff. He wants to be with us. He doesn't want us to settle for success. Unless he's a part of it, because he knows his presence is what makes the real difference in our lives. You can have influence, uh, people can be visible, they can have visibility. You can even have outward success. We see it all the time, but if you're disconnected from God's presence, you're missing the real power source. You might be building something good. But it's not gonna last. God doesn't just want to bless what you're building. He wants to build it with you. So ask yourself, am I rushing ahead of God? Am I making decisions without prayer? Am I trying to lead people into places that I haven't invited him into first?'cause here's what Moses understood. God's presence isn't just helpful, it's essential. So what's the application for today? Well one, start strategic planning with a lot of prayer. Don't just ask God to bless your plans. Ask him to shape them. Before you lead that meeting, pause and ask for his wisdom. Before you make that decision, ask for his peace about it. Before you chase the opportunity, ask if he's in it. When you prioritize God's presence, you're not moving slower. You are moving stronger. Here are a few ways to stay present centered as a leader. Begin your day in prayer before diving into all your tasks. Pause during moments of pressure and ask, Lord, what do you want me to do here? What do you want here in this? Invite God into your meetings, even with a simple, silent prayer. Keep worship music or scripture in your work environment as a reminder that God needs to be there with you and he is. They're with you, whether you realize it or not, and end each day reflecting on where you saw God at work. These aren't just spiritual habits, and they are good ones, but they're also leadership strategies because when you lead from presence, you lead with peace, clarity, and with courage. Now, I've had seasons where I led without God's presence. Too many, too much, and everything looked fine on the outside. But on the inside I was running on empty, and I've had seasons where everything was uncertain and I needed to stay rooted in prayer. And the peace that I carried through God was unshakeable. And I discovered that when I didn't have that peace, 'cause I didn't have the presence of God, that difference wasn't my ability, it was my alignment. Not with my team, not with my business, not with my strategy, my alignment with him. So here's your challenge before you take on your biggest task today, stop and pray. Lord, I don't want to move without you. It could be 10 seconds. It could be 10 minutes. But whatever it is, make his presence your priority, because when God goes with you, you're not just chasing goals. Your walking in purpose. Look, your greatest leadership strength is not your experience. It's not your expertise. It's not in knowhow. It's your connection to God's presence. He knows the things you don't. He sees the things that you can't, and when you walk with him, you'll go further than you ever thought possible. This is leading 10. I'm Chris Moore. Now. Go lead with presence and let God, guide, every step of your day, if he does, you will be successful. If this helped refocus your heart, go ahead and like this episode, subscribe and share this. Share this thought. With one leader who's running hard right now, needs to be reminded. They may need to slow down. Take a breath, seek God. I'll see you next time.
