Do you realize how much influence you really have? Leadership is more than a title. It's more than your role or description. It's your presence, your words, your attitude, and whether you realize it or not. Someone is always watching you. So what kind of impact are you making? This is Leading 10. I'm Chris Moore, and today we're talking about the weight of influence. Matthew chapter five, verses 14 through 16 YE or the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father, which is in heaven. Jesus said, we are the light of the world. That's not just a nice idea, it's a responsibility. You don't get to turn off your influence just because you're tired, exhausted, or frustrated with what's going on or someone around you. You don't get to hide your light when it's inconvenient. If you are a leader, and many of us are, whether you realize it or not, people are watching how you react, how you lead, how you live. Here's the truth, you have more influence than you think. Maybe you don't feel like a leader because you don't have a title, you, you don't have a place. You may even be someone that works for home, but if someone looks to you for guidance, if someone listens when you speak, someone may be following your example. And they probably are. Congratulations. You are leading and the way you carry yourself, especially when you're under pressure, can either draw people closer to God or push them further away. So what does this passage say about us? It says we underestimate our impact, and I see this all the time. We think leadership is about being in charge, but real influence is lived out through consistency, humility, and integrity. And what does it say about God? It says that he has positioned you to shine, shine like a light. It doesn't say, those of you that have a light. Since you already have one, you don't have to manufacture greatness. You just have to reflect his light, his light shining through you. You weren't called to just to blend in with the crowd. You were called to stand out to lead in a way that points people to Jesus. I want you to really think about this. Every conversation you have, every decision you make, every attitude you carry, every email you send, phone conversations, how you dress, how you walk, it leaves a trail, it sets a tone, it shapes the people around you. That's the weight of your influence. And we carry it whether we want to or not. It's not optional. So let me ask you, if someone followed your example this week. Would they be more kind? Would they be more generous? Would they be more Christ-like? Would they lead with peace or would they lead with pressure? Would they find hope or would they just see busyness and hustle? Here's the thing about light. It doesn't have to shout to be seen. It just has to shine. And your leadership, your quiet obedience, your integrity, your faithfulness, all those things are your light and someone else needs it. They need your light. They can't get it from me. They can't get it from someone else. You give it out. So what do we do with this? Well, here's your takeaway. Use your leadership platform and everyone has one. Doesn't necessarily have to be a, a video, a podcast, YouTube reels, any of that type of stuff. We think about platform, we start thinking about all these things, but you have one, and you need to use it to point people to God, not to yourself. It's not to your success, but to the one who put you where you are. If you are in the right role and, and you're not just building a team of people, you are building trust, you are shaping the culture that is around you. You are reflecting God's light in dark places. So lead with intention, lead with love, lead like someone is watching because they always are. So here's the challenge. Ask someone you trust. This simple question, what kinda light does my leadership give off? Their answer might surprise you and it might reveal where God is calling you to grow. And don't be surprised if you hear something that you may not like because we must be intentional in what we are doing in every moment. Look, you don't have to be perfect to be influential. You just have to be faithful. Let your light shine. Let it shine in meetings and emails at home, especially on hard days and through some of those tough calls and trust that God is using you more than you know. This is leading. 10. I'm Chris Moore. It's time for you to go lead, lead with clarity and shine with purpose. If this encouraged you, tap the like button. Subscribe so you never miss a new episode.
