This is leading 10. I'm Chris Moore, and here is today's question, what do you do when no one is watching? We love to talk about big goals and bold leadership moves, but the truth is it's the small decisions that we make often in private that say more about our leadership than the big ones that we make in public. Character isn't tested in the spotlight. It's tested in the shadows off the main stage. So let's talk about why integrity and the little things matters more than we think. Luke chapter 16, verse 10 says, he that is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in much he that is just in the least, is unjust also in much. Jesus is clear here. What you do with the small stuff reveals how you'll handle the big stuff. You don't suddenly become a person of integrity when the stakes are high. You practice integrity when the stakes seem low, like it doesn't matter, and that's what prepares you for more in the future. Let's be honest, most of us are tempted to let little things slide. We fudge numbers a little bit to hit a goal. We show up late and say, Hey, it's no big deal. We give 80% effort on a task that we think no one will notice. Or maybe it doesn't really matter. We will maybe try and bend the truth a little bit about things that are uncomfortable. It's easy to justify these things. After all, it's just small, right? But here's what Jesus is pointing out. Small compromises create cracks in the foundation, and when the pressure hits, that's when things get exposed you don't rise to the level of ambition, you rise to the level of character and characters Built one small choice at a time. This verse tells us something about God. God watches what we do in the little things because he's preparing us for more later. You know, God just doesn't look at our daily highlight reel. He's paying attention to our habits. He's not the Instagram post and the Facebook post he's watching. He's interested in where you want to go. He's not just interested in where you want to go. He's shaping who you are along the way. Throughout scripture, we see this pattern. Joseph was faithful in prison before he became the leader of a nation. David protected sheep alone out in the field in secret before he ever stepped up to faith Goliath. Jesus himself spent 30 quiet years honoring his earthly family. Preparing himself before he stepped into public ministry. Because God's promotion comes through preparation, and preparation always includes those small, often unseen acts of integrity. So how do we apply this to our leadership today? Well, let's take two quick and practical steps. First, take those small responsibilities seriously. If you are in a season where it feels like you just don't have influence or it's limited, uh, you're not a leader is how you feel and see yourself, don't resent it, steward it. Whether it's managing a few people leading a meeting, or simply somebody has given you an administrative task to do, do it with excellence. The way you handle today's responsibility is your audition for tomorrow's opportunities. Faithfulness in the least isn't about the size the task. It's about your heart, the heart behind the task. And number two, build those habits that reflect your values. Integrity isn't just about avoiding big scandals, it's about consistency. Are your actions matching your values in those small daily choices? Do you return messages when you said you would? Do you answer the phone when you're supposed to? Do you show up on time? Do you give credit where it's due? Do you tell the uncomfortable truth? Even when it is uncomfortable doing the right thing, even when it's inconvenient for us, these small habits build a reputation of trust and trust Is leadership currency like none other? So let's look back. Luke 1610 reminds us faithfulness in the little things is the foundation of greater influence in the future. We tempted to overlook, make small compromises, but that's who shapes us into what we're becoming. God is watching how we handle today because he's preparing us tomorrow. How we automatically act in the little things is when we're under stress, how we'll act in the big things. Leadership isn't about standing in the spotlight. It's about what we do when we're out of the spotlight. So what's our challenge? Well, number one, just pick one small area where you've been slipping. Maybe it's something you brushed off as, Hey, it's no big deal. Then let's start doing the right thing consistently in that area. Write it down, name it, and be intentional about how you're gonna change it. Because how you lead in private is how you're gonna lead in public. You know the world values image over integrity a lot. You can be different. You can be the leader who keeps your word, who shows up with consistency, who chooses character over convenience. And here's the good news, you don't have to be perfect, just faithful. And I will tell you, you won't be perfect. I'm not perfect. No one's perfect, but Jesus never has been, never will be. But what we can do is start small and stay steady. God sees it and he will honor it because he says so. So thank you for joining me today on Lead Intent. If this encouraged you, please share it with someone else who is committed to walking into integrity. Until next time, lead with that integrity. Live with purpose and remember the little things. They're never really little.
